Booking Confirmation and Cancellation Process

  • Booking Confirmation: Guests must finalize bookings through Shopeventspace, ensuring they review the space description and availability carefully. All fees and taxes associated with the booking will be disclosed before the booking is completed.
  • Official Cancellation: A booking is considered officially canceled when the guest receives a cancellation confirmation via Shopeventspace notification or email. Guests are encouraged to follow the specific steps outlined under "How to Cancel a Booking" on our platform.

 

Refunds and Host Payouts

  • General Refunds: If a cancellation is initiated by a guest, the refund amount will depend on the cancellation policy in effect, which varies by host. All cleaning fees are refunded if the guest cancels before using the space.
  • Host Payouts: After a cancellation, host payouts are adjusted. This adjustment takes into account the subtraction of Shopeventspace service fees from the subtotal price of the booking. The specific refund and payout structure will depend on the cancellation timeline and policy chosen by the host.

 

Types of Cancellations

  • Vendor and Host Add-On Cancellations: The cancellation policy for additional services provided by hosts or vendors will align with the main booking unless otherwise specified. For food and beverage services, the host’s set policy at the time of booking confirmation applies.
  • Host or Vendor Cancellations: If a cancellation is initiated by the host or vendor, guests will receive a full refund, including all fees. The cancelling party may also be responsible for any consequential losses incurred and might face penalties as outlined in the policy.

 

Special Circumstances and Excused Cancellations

  • Excused Cancellations: Shopeventspace may permit cancellations without penalties under extenuating circumstances, such as unexpected serious illness or death, severe weather events, legal restrictions, or significant property damage. Valid documentation may be required to process these cancellations.

 

Fines and Penalties

  • Penalties for Unexcused Host Cancellations: Hosts who cancel without a valid reason may face fines and other penalties, including displacement costs for guests, a minimum fine, or percentage-based penalties depending on the total booking price. Repeated unexcused cancellations may lead to delisting from the platform.

 

Additional Notes

  • Cancellation Periods: All cancellation periods are based on the local time zone where the space is located.
  • Modifications by Guests: If a booking is updated or modified, the cancellation policy at the time of the original booking still applies. Adjustments to the booking may lead to a recalculated host payout or guest refund based on the updated terms.
